Цілі проекту:  розповсюджувати мову жестів у світі

Фінансування:Проект фінансується різноманітними щорічними відкритими грантами. В окремих випадках використовується допомога волонтерів .

Короткий опис проекту: 

Мова жестів не є однаковою в різних країнах світу, вона відрізняється так само як відрізняються між собою розмовні мови. Саме тому он-лайн словник Spreadthesign.com необхідний тим, хто хоче вивчити мову жестів іншої країни, чи навіть своєї власної. Мати вільний доступ до своєї мови – це право людини, але нажаль це не завжди так, коли йдеться про глухих людей в нашому суспільстві. Наш словник допомагає багатьом людям – як глухим, так і людям без обмеження слуху, що хочуть поліпшити свої навички комунікації.  НДО European Sign Language Centre реалізує проект у Швеції та має партнерів у половині країн Європи. Більшість нашого штату – глухі молоді люди, що офіційно працевлаштовані.  Кожна країна-партнер, отримуючи фінансування, виконує переклад та лінгвістичну перевірку матеріалів словника. Запис та редагування здійснюється в студії глухими акторами. Словник також доступний як додаток для смартфонів. Більшість наших партнерів – це школи для глухих та університети.  Spread the sign  он-лайн  словник був офіційно запущений у 2009 р. шведською королевою Сільвією  та міністром освіти країни як успішний Leonardo da Vinci проект Європейського Союзу.

Результати

До 2015 р. більшість партнерів матиме словник, що складається з 15000 перекладених та записаних на відео жестів/слів для кожної мови. Практично жодному уряду  в Європі не  вдалось забезпечити своє населення словником жестів такого об’єму та доступності. Сайт проекту було нагороджено багато разів в різних країнах.

Project terms: We apply for funding on a yearly basis and have to rely on open grants for funding. A few times volunteers help us.

Short Project description:

Sign language is not the same all over the world. It is as different as all the spoken languages. That is why the web dictionary Spreadthesign.com is needed if you would like to learn sign language of another country, or your own. To have access to your own language is a human right. But it is unfortunately not the case for the deaf  people in our society. Our dictionary helps a lot of people. Both deaf and hearing who are interested to learn and get greater skills in communication. The NGO European Sign Language Centre are operating the dictionary from Sweden and have partners in half of Europe. Most of the staff is young deaf people that are employed. Each partner in the world, when funds are available, are doing the translations and linguistic proofreading. Recordings and editing are done in studio with deaf actors. The dictionary are available in smartphones too. Most of our partners are schools for deaf or universities. Spread the sign  web dictionary was officially launched 2009 by Queen Silvia of Sweden and minster of Education in Sweden. As a successful Leonardo da Vinci EU project.

Results

In 2015 most of the partners will have some 15.000 signs/words translated and recorded, per language, in the dictionary. Very few governments in Europe have provided their population with a sign language dictionary in this scale and accessibility as we do. The website is awarded several times in several countries.
